National Poetry Month--Day One

It's national poetry month!

All through the month of April, educators, writers, and word lovers everywhere are celebrating the beauty of poetry. You can find more information here and ways to celebrate here

In the meantime, I'm celebrating all month long with one of my favorite types of poetry: haiku.

(The most basic definition of haiku is that it's a poem consisting of three lines following a 5-7-5 syllable pattern.)

I'll post one poem a day.

I'm using the journal prompts posted over at The Four Queens, so these are going to be pretty honest.

I would love to read YOUR haiku poetry, too! Follow the prompt or go out on your own! Post by commenting below, and spread the haiku love!

~Day One~

Prompt:  Whereabouts are you currently feeling impatient and frustrated?

Answer:

Stresses of day jobs
leave time without solitude—
peaceful reflection.

Happy Poetry Month!
